The highlight of November was a visit from my dear friends, Jenn, Matt and James (which I’ll include in a later post), as well as Thanksgiving (while they were here!) and Nate’s BIG 3-0 Birthday. Here’s the rest of our day-to-day adventures:
Ava and Daddy taking pictures of Paton
Checking them out
Some of the Thanksgiving decor–Two of my three pumpkins (missing the “Give” pumpkin, which imploded soon after painting it).
The kids waiting for Daddy to come home from work
Ava and Daddy watching…
Paton’s first time on the bike. He thoroughly, serenely enjoyed the ride.
My slightly OCD daughter lining up her animals. She’s her mother’s daughter.
Ava is also her father’s daughter–she LOVES photography
Reading one of her favorite books
Receiving mail is SO exciting!
One of many power cuts this month. Paton doesn’t seem too disturbed.
Using the emergency light to read
And life continues…
Enjoying more Curious George
My early Christmas gift from Nate (per my request). He had one of his Phnom Penh photos enlarged and framed. I love it!
Ava proudly displaying her stack of towels, after helping me with the laundy
Nate’s 30th Birthday. We ate breakfast at the Shop Too, where he opened a few gifts.
Continuing the birthday celebration with a meal and a movie.
Ava checking out the Christmas decor boxes
Watching our first Christmas film of the season…”A Charlie Brown Christmas”
Ava pretending that a book is her laptop, and Paton is not happy about it, apparently.
I found this large branch at a dump site near our house. The Cambodians seemed very curious to see a foreigner lady digging through the rubbish, ha ha. I cut out different-colored leaves from fabric paper (they use it to wrap flowers here). I was very pleased with the fall-ish effect, especially since we don’t really have a fall in Cambodia.
